Galway Print Community Reels as Castle Print Closes

After thirty years of trading, Castle Print in Galway City has closed its doors for the last time. The shock news filtered through to the industry on Friday 25th September, with the harsh reality of a further 30 jobs lost to the printing trade.

The family run business, located in the Liosbaun Business Park on Tuam Road is highly regarded amongst customers and suppliers alike and was nominated for several Irish Print Awards.

The company issued a statement to local radio station Galway Bay FM which read:

‘It is with regret that Joe O Flaherty of Castle Print confirms that Castle Print closed last Friday with the loss of 30 jobs’.
‘Castle Print would like to thank the people who worked for us and loyal customers down through the years.’
‘Castle Print or the O Flaherty family are making no further comment at this stage’.

A meeting of creditors has been arranged for 12th of October, with the venue to be confirmed at the time of writing.
