KBA Appoints Pang to ‘maintain momentum’ in UK & Ireland

Press manufacture Koenig & Bauer Group (KBA) has appointed Andrew Pang to succeed outgoing Christian Knapp as managing director of its wholly-owned subsidiary KBA (UK) Ltd.
Pang joined KBA in 2007 as sheetfed service director and went on to launch the now highly successful approved consumables division (PressConsum). Earlier this year he returned to his service director role following internal reorganisation.
Christian Knapp comments:
“Andrew is taking the reins of a very successful UK operation with its continued focus on customer satisfaction. He joined us six years ago to complement an already strong management team and the decision to recruit from within demonstrates KBA's priority on building and sustaining long term relationships here in the UK and in Ireland.”
Andrew Pang began his career as an apprentice with Butler and Tanner. By the time he left to join KBA (UK) Ltd. in 2007 he had worked his way up to Print Director responsible for all repro, ctp, litho and digital printing as well as IT. Most significantly, he had first-hand experience of a major organisation running multiple KBA presses. More recently he has been involved with KBA’s customer consultancy project which focusses on the ISO12647-2 implementation, performance and optimisation.
Mr Pang comments:
“Having been a KBA customer helped me to understand the printer’s demands of their press suppliers – both in terms of everyday support and as a long-term business partner. In the very difficult trading conditions we face today I am acutely aware that we have to constantly look at the way we respond to our customers’ demands in order to provide a tailored product and service.”
KBA is the world’s leading supplier of large format presses and market-leader in the security printing sector. It is a major player in the newspaper and commercial web sectors and has recently become the UK’s second placed offset litho press supplier.
